UBSHS Scouts Join Baguio Council Delegation at the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree

The Baguio Council Scouts, which included three Boy Scouts from University of Baguio Science High School (UBSHS) and 40 scouts from other schools in Baguio City 43 Scouts in total along with the guidance of Baguio City Council staff Ramon E. Jacinto Scout Executive, Gina G. Rodriguez and Sandy Labintas, and five Adult leaders Salvatore Dogaong, Nelson Odasco, Jayvee Bueno, Joemalin Cubalit and Mark Neil Bosway,  proudly reached a milestone by attending the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree from December 14 to 21, 2025. This international event brought together thousands of young scouts from all over the Asia-Pacific region. The UBSHS Scouts had a unique chance to represent their school and community at this prestigious event. They also got to learn about other cultures, develop their leadership skills, and work together with scouts from different backgrounds.

The Baguio Council Delegation made it safely to Camp Botolan, Zambales, where they officially started their trip to the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree. The scouts were excited and happy to be at the jamboree site, which marked the start of an unforgettable international scouting experience.

As delegations from different councils and countries came together in Botolan, Zambales, the atmosphere was full of energy. The UBSHS Scouts were proud to arrive at the jamboree site because it showed their dedication to leadership, service, and cultural exchange. This arrival not only marked the start of activities, but also the start of friendships, learning experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime.

During the opening program of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree, the Baguio Council Scout Delegation made a strong and lasting impression as they proudly marched in full uniform and colorful ethnic clothing. Their presence beautifully showed off the mix of discipline, unity, and cultural heritage, which drew the attention and admiration of both participants and guests.

The Baguio Council Scouts, including the University of Baguio Science High School (UBSHS) Scouts, had a full day of fun, learning, and meaningful experiences at the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree. They really got into the spirit of international Scouting at the Botolan, Zambales jamboree site.

The scouts took part in a lot of planned activities that started early in the morning and were meant to help them become better leaders, work as a team, and learn new skills. These included outdoor challenges, survival and pioneering tasks, leadership and values workshops, and interactive games that got scouts from different countries and cultures to work together. Each activity pushed them to do their best while also building their confidence, discipline, and sense of duty.

One of the most exciting highlights for the Baguio Council Scouts Delegation during the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree was the day dedicated to water activities. From obstacle courses and team relay games in the water, the scouts showed enthusiasm and camaraderie, supporting one another through each activity. Laughter, friendly competition, and the thrill of adventure filled the day, making it a favorite among the delegation. Many scouts noted that the water activities allowed them to relax, bond with new friends from different councils and countries, and apply problem-solving skills in a dynamic and playful environment.

Representing Baguio City with Pride

The 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree ended with a stunning fireworks show that lit up the night sky. The Baguio Council Scouts Delegation and other participants were amazed. Scouts from the University of Baguio Science High School and the rest of the group got together to watch the bright colors and patterns light up the jamboree grounds in Botolan, Zambales. 

The experience also strengthened the main ideas of Scouting: service, discipline, and responsibility. The scouts showed enthusiasm, teamwork, and a strong sense of friendship as representatives of UBSHS. This showed the school’s dedication to holistic education and empowering young people. Their time at the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree not only helped them grow as people, but it also made them more determined to serve their communities and uphold the values of Scouting.

The UBSHS community is proud of this accomplishment, which shows how dedicated the scouts are, how well their leaders guide them, and how much the school supports them. The 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree will always be a special and inspiring part of the UBSHS Scouts’ journey as they learn to be better leaders and responsible citizens of the world.
