QUALIFICATIONS
Are you…
- a currently enrolled Grade 6, Grade 7, or Grade 10 student?
- a student with an average grade of 80 in all subject areas and no grade below 80 in any grading period?
- are you a student who has not incurred any major school violation for the current and previous school year?
- physically, emotionally, and mentally fit to take the UB Science High School challenge?
IF YOU ANSWERED YES in all the questions, then YOU CAN BE OUR NEXT UB SCIENCE HIGH SCHOLAR!
REQUIREMENTS
- Copy of the grades from the current school year (SY 2023-2024)
- Copy of complete grades (1st to 4th grading) from the previous school year (SY 2022-2023)
- Complete name and email address of one recommender from current school (adviser, subject teacher, counselor, or principal)
- Recent photo
- Certificates for awards, academic and co-curricular activities received by the student in the last two years, if available
- Receipt of the SHOQA Processing Fee amounting to Php 200 (waived for students from UBLES or any public school)
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Prepare the application documents.
Make sure all the application documents are complete before filling out the application form. Only the documents uploaded in the application form will be considered for the assessment.
Fill out the Online Application Form.

Wait for your applicant number.
The assigned SDF will send a confirmation email, assessment schedule, and your applicant number, which will be used to track your progress in the assessment process. The email shall be sent to your registered email address two working days after the receipt of your application.
Recommendation from Character Reference
The assigned SDF shall send the online recommendation form to the character reference declared in the application form. The parent/guardian shall be notified once the recommendation form has been received.
Examination Orientation
The guidelines for the examination, test details, and Google Invitation shall be discussed during the orientation. Only the students who attended the orientation shall be allowed to take the examination.
Science High Online Qualifying Assessment Examination
All applicants will be taking the Science High Online Qualifying Assessment Examination at the UB Science High School Campus.
Online Interview
The applicant shall undergo the interview through Google Meet.
Release of SHOQA results
The assigned SDF shall send the complete assessment including the document review, examination, and online interview as well as the admission status of the applicant for SY 2024-2025.
