The University of Baguio Science High School (UBSHS) proudly took part in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines–Baguio City Council Opening Parade and Program 2025, carrying the theme “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders.” The event marked the start of another year of service, leadership, and camaraderie among young Scouts across the city.
The parade began at the Baguio Convention Center, where Scouts, school officials, teachers, and parents gathered before marching with their school banners toward the Baguio City Athletic Bowl. The streets came alive with cheers, colors, and the unmistakable energy of the Scouting spirit.
Showcasing discipline and unity, the UBSHS Scouts proudly marched in full uniform, holding high the University of Baguio Science High School banner. Each troop displayed its commitment to the Scouting ideals of duty to God, country, and others through its well-coordinated formations and respectful conduct. Their enthusiastic parade yells and synchronized steps reflected their readiness to take on new challenges and responsibilities in the year ahead.
The program proper began with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by the recitation of the Scout Oath and Law, which reminded everyone of the noble values that guide every member of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. The Opening Remarks were delivered by the Scout Coordinator, who emphasized the vital role of Scouting in shaping character, leadership, and social responsibility. Messages of support from school administrators further underscored how the Scouting movement continues to develop confident, compassionate, and community-oriented students.
The event concluded with a message of encouragement to all Scouts to uphold the values of honesty, respect, and service throughout the year. In a symbolic moment, Scouts and Scout officials blew their whistles together to officially open the Scouting Month for School Year 2025–2026. The UBSHS Scouts’ Opening Parade and Program not only celebrated the official start of Scouting activities but also strengthened the bond among students and leaders united by the shared goal of living out the Scout Motto: “Laging Handa.”
Through this meaningful gathering, the UBSHS Boy Scouts reaffirmed their commitment to serve the school and the community with integrity, discipline, and a heart for leadership.
